Welcome and Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Hi, I’m Lucretia, or Lu as most people know me in the birthing world. I’m a long time doula, now midwife working in caseload.I passionately believe all women need unbiased education, choices and most importantly support in pregnancy, birth and motherhood.
I no longer offer doula support however, I know many fabulaous doulas, from students right through to very experienced and I am happy to share them with you!
I still offer childbirth education and placenta encapsulation services in Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
Please feel free to contact me and discuss what you might be looking for in your birth.
When working as a doula I supported over 250 women to birth in all settings from home, birth centre, labour ward and to have elective cesareans. No matter where you choose to birth having someone focus on you, provide you with reassurance and information to make informed decisions, as well as provide continuity of care is so important.
Now working as a caseload midwife I get to support women and their families, sometimes with a doula present, love that!
I wish you all the best on your journey to parenthood.
This is me
Midwife, Previous Doula, Childbirth Educator and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist.
I have been passionate about birth for as long as I can remember. This passion grew when I became pregnant with my first daughter who was born in 1996 and even more so with the birth of my second daughter in 1999.
After these life-changing experiences, I knew this was the area I wanted to work in. I became very aware that having good support and continuity of care in pregnancy and birth could change the way we birth and then mother our babies.
I have been supporting pregnant and birthing families since 1998 and after attending many births as a support person I decided to officially train as a doula with Australian Doula College. I continued to study at the college completing my Childbirth Educators Course and now offer both private and group educational sessions on childbirth.
I believe women must be respected and listened to in labour and birth. I believe this philosophy provides a strong foundation for women and their partners when entering into parenthood. My role as a doula was to provide you with physical and emotional support, as well as provide you with education and as much access to current evidence based information and research. This assists you to make informed decisions about your pregnancy and birth. My philosophy remains the same, now that I am a midwife.
You can contact me through the contact page with any questions you may have and I will do my best to answer them or link you up with someone who can help you.
I really look forward to chatting with you about your pregnancy and birth wishes.
